Presented by Waller Creek Conservancy, Creek Show is an outreach program designed to surprise and delight audiences with outstanding light based art installations that celebrate, support, and educate the community on the importance and impact transforming Waller Creek will have on Austin's social, cultural, and ecological future. Launched in 2014 as a one night event, Creek Show has grown in popularity each year with an estimated 50,000 attendees visiting in 2018.
Creek Show returns November 7-17, 2019 for eleven-nights of free light-based, site-specific art installations along Waller Creek. Stroll along the creek, between and 9th & 12th Streets, while taking in six new, illuminating works of light-based art.
The Waller Creek Conservancy’s Creek Show invites architects, landscape architects, artists, and designers to submit ideas for light-based, site-specific installations within a three block area of Waller Creek. Six of the submitted ideas will be selected by a committee of local leaders from the design and art community, to then be constructed by the selected teams. Creek Show 2019 will continue to delight and inspire the community by activating Waller Creek, between 9th St and 12th St, in the heart of downtown Austin. The completed installations will be open to the public for 12 days in November of 2019.
